The MetaConsole SDK provides tools and instructions
for creating your management applications. It allows you to:

Build a management application to manage SNMP
capable devices while running your application from a web-browser,
OpenView, NetView or Unicenter.

Translate your SNMP MIB (Management Information
Base)into a protocol-independent representation of the management
information that your MIB represents and then access this information
easily in your management application.

Create a user-interface for managing your targets.

Automatically discovery your target devices simply
specify the discovery criteria.

Build monitoring of your target devices for alarm
conditions and then store the alarms in a DB that supports SQL
access. SQL Server, Oracle and MYSQL are supported databases.
You can monitor your targets by either polling them or via SNMP
traps. Autoamtic integration your alarms into the alarm manager
present in OpenView etc is a feature that is built into the
alarm management capabilities of MetaConsole.

Create an installation program that will install
your application on any of the supported MetaConsole platforms.

Localize your application. MetaConsole supports
multiple languages from the same executable.
